is web develoment more of a IT bachelor degree or multimedia %26amp; web design bachelor degree
Do I need to get into IT for web development/design then Multimedia %26amp; Web design?
That is interesting as most of the accredited colleges I have seen do not offer majors in Web Design %26amp; Development. I thought it was because of the standards changing so rapidly.
If your looking to do more of the artsy layouts you will want to look toward Graphics Artists degrees which are typically BFA degrees. However if your looking to be the programmer to design custom applications or integrate websites with the server producing web pages that "think" you should be looking at degrees in computer science and engineering.

Reply:That depends on if you want to focus on designing the pages themselves (e.g. what Yahoo Answers looks like) or designing systems that process data and produce the pages (e.g. how Yahoo Answers stores all the questions and answers).
Something programming focused is better for the latter. The multimedia and web design option sounds better for the former.
