XML and web development !?
Web development is not much different than any other development. The two differences are that your display is a usually a browser and you have to be concerned with security. You should not think of web development as some sort of separate entity.

XML is a big part of the web. However, it cannot entirely be separated out in terms of using it or not using it. For example, XHTML is XML. Web services use XML to move data between applications.

XML is used for so much more that web development. It is used to transport data in and out of databases. This might be used in the back-end of a web application but it isn't part of "the web" per se.

I don't know that you need to read 1000 pages to learn XML. Start by learning the basics of XML. Learn the general areas where it is used and for what. That way, when you come to a point where you need to do something you know where to find the information.

Reply:XML is just tags. Just read up on the links above and find an XML parser for the programming language you're using.
